This genuine 1960s shirt from Spinney had a few small marks but I had to try and save as much of it as possible - just look at that print! Anth the collar!!
It was obviously a wardrobe favourite as it has seen some wash and wear, the fabric is pretty thin but still, the tennis racket print was worth saving. I therefore decided on a cropped shirt, taking away the sleeves which left a wide armhole and enabling this to be worn with a bralet/bikini top under as it is quite see through.
I've elasticated the lower band and added a tie, the shirt still fastens with its original buttons.
The long dagger collar is another stand out feature which is clean and mark free - the most noticeable of the marks is by the second button hole down.
Now I know it's not perfect but, that's the reason I saved it from landfill, it has a character of its own and now a whole new style. I' just hope you like it just as much.
