Great boxy sports jacket designed by J P Montague for Walter Harland of Harrow, UK.
The large blue and black check has a fine white check running through and is single breasted with a small 5" vent at the back. There are two flap front lower pockets and a smaller welted coin pocket above the right one then a top left folded and carded white kerchief in the top left pocket. Inside there is a divided left upper pocket and a single right inner pocket.
The wool fabric had received some moth damage, small holes that were hard to invisibly disguise. In order to keep this amazing vintage piece going I have therefore repaired the holes and covered with black and white embroidered couching stitch that compliments the jacket's check pattern.
This jacket is a complete one-off owing to its visibly repaired design but also has a fabulous pedigree going back decades.
