This handmade beauty has recognisable seventies style and charm. It's not only in the gorgeous floral prints and mix of muted greens and blues but also in the design. The neck line is very widew, coming to a V shaped point at the centre chest and the dress fastens at the back with its original zipper in good working order (two hook and eyes clasp the top and centre back together). The empire line has a band of emerald green velvet ribbon under the bust and a thinner band sits around the upper arm. The sleeves below the ribbon are unlined and balloon out to an elasticated cuff. The rest of the dress is lined throughout.
The inner zipper is slightly discouloured but this doesn't show outside and the print on one of the leaves on the upper right chest has a pale area, not sure its a stain but rather a fault in the print - this doesn't distract from the dress as a whole.
It's a beautiful example of 1970s summer vibes and in wonderful condition for its age.
