This Weeks Events

Here we are, Monday again and I'm preparing what's needed for the week ahead.

My first workshop will be on Wednesday, this is at Flaxhill Primary School and I'm visiting KS2 classes to make fabric flowers for the Flower Castle project. This involves me cutting out a huge amount of fabric circles and strips to get the kids started with some fabulous flowers.

On Thursday I'll be back at Tamworth Castle to join the Castle Craft Group where production of fabric flowers also continues. As well as making, we will be experimenting with the installation itself to test how the long strips of flowers can be hung through the castle crenellations. For this, I am keeping busy both stapling and stitching completed flowers onto the woven tape they will be displayed on.

This Saturday sees another Mending Circle at Heart of Tamworth where we will be repairing, refashioning and upcycling clothing and textiles. There will also be some flower making going on!

In between this is business as usual; repairing, restoring and refashioning vintage clothing along with some natural dyeing as I have several stained pieces to bring back to life.
