Flower Power

The Flower Castle project is gathering pace, nearly all workshops completed now so Sarah and I are busy attaching flowers to tape. With 30 to complete alongside 100s more to display, I'm not sure there will be much time for blogging!
Last week we had a trial run attaching flower tapes together and hanging them through the castle crenelations. as you will see, it was a big success (and relief) and looked great.

More flowers are coming in all the time; from individual donations, community groups and workshops we've hosted. Last week Emma and I were with the wonderful Dementia Caring folk who made some absolute beauties. Then at the weekend, Sarah and Emma joined Tamworth Methodists Street Party were many more crafters provided lots of lovely fabric flowers to the growing tally.
We must be reaching 2000 now!

In the meantime here at Missfit it is business as usual. Work keeps coming in and there's never a dull moment.
At the end of last week I saw a lovely couple who are getting ready for their wedding in December but the groom's kilt is too large. It's a Feildeah Mor so we had fun wrapping and draping to get the right fit. I'll soon be taking the scissors to several hundred pounds worth of Gunn tartan... wish me luck!
Repairs, refashions and upcycles are ongoing at Missfit alongside sales of the same so do check out my website shop and Vinted store to see what's on offer.

Keep cool as the temperatures here in the UK soar (currently 33deg). I'll catch up at the end of this week as we prepare for another Mending Circle.
See you then 🪡🧵♻️💚
